Weightlifting Coach

Amy first started CrossFit in March 2014 and this is how she found her love for Olympic Weightlifting.  She competed in her  first Weightlifting competition in November 2015. It wasn’t until around a year ago that she retired from CrossFit and dedicated all her training to Olympic Weightlifting.  Since then her journey has been an absolute whirlwind of a ride. Amy has been coaching Weightlifting for 2 years now.

Amy’s highlights so far are:

  • English Champion 2018
  • British Silver Medallist 2017
  • Competing with KSV Grünstadt in the German Weightlifting Bundesliga – We were promoted to Division One
  • Selected for her first International team representing Great Britain at the European Championships

What made you become a coach?     
“After not having a coach for several years I know the importance and the difference it makes to your training. I wouldn’t want anyone to be in my position so it’s amazing to be able to ensure that never happens:

What is your favourite quote or mantra to live by?
“The coffee run is my cardio”

What is your most fond memory of competing yourself?
“Stepping onto the international stage for the first time representing Great Britain.”

What is your favorite food to eat the night after a big competition?
“I’m a sucker for pizza and ice cream. I usually stop off at McDonald’s for a McFlurry on the way home!”

What are your non-negotiables when it comes to your training?
“A fantastic bar is a necessity.”

Tell me something far lesser known about you?
“I love my cat…”
